A man is being treated at Cork University Hospital for serious injuries he received while swimming in Co Cork.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It is understood that the man struck rocks below the surface of the water while diving from a height of around 15 metres at Nohoval Cove near Kinsale.
The incident happened just afternoon 2pm.
The alarm was first raised with the National Ambulance Service, which requested assistance from the Coast Guard.
The Marine Emergency Co-ordination Centre at Valentia in Co Kerry tasked the Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115 from Shannon, Kinsale Lifeboat and Oysterhaven and Summercove Coast Guard Unit.
The injured man was taken ashore from rocks and transferred to the Coast Guard helicopter.
He was flown to Cork Airport and transferred from there to Cork University Hospital, where he is currently being treated.
