A 44-year-old man has been before a special District Court sitting at Mallow in Co Cork charged in connection with a garda seizure of cannabis and cocaine yesterday.
The drugs have an estimated street value of more than €700,000.
Michael O'Brien, with an address at Bweeng, Co Cork, was charged with possession for sale or supply of cannabis and cocaine.
He was granted free legal aid by Judge David Waters.
Inspector Michael Corbett applied for an adjournment of the case and consented to Mr O'Brien being released on bail.
He is due to appear before the court again on 23 April.
The drugs were seized during a joint operation involving gardaí from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit and the Cork North Divisional Drugs Unit.
