Thirteen towns and villages across Co Kerry are taking part in this year's Culture Night, the 13th year the county has participated in the national celebration of all things cultural.
With some 58 events there is something for everyone, from an evening of world music, song and dance, Céilé Afro DABKE in Tralee, and music making with the Chime Cave in Cahirsiveen.
There is also site-specific theatre with performer and vocalist Grace Foley at the Brehon Hotel in Killarney to a night with local Sliabh Luachra musical talent at the Tureencahill Community Centre.
With events beginning in Killarney from 5pm at the annual Kerry Visual Artists Showcase in Government Buildings, a full list of all events can be found from Kerry County Council.
In Cork City, there will be comedy, drama and tragedy on the city's Culture Night buses, with choirs signing their hearts out on the city's bridges, poets roaming the city's streets, and a Lee Sessions Trad Trail in some of the city's best known hostelries.
The city boasts a bumper programme for 2018 with some 250 events taking place in museums, galleries, historic buildings, artists' studios and at City Hall, where the invitation is to 'Come Dancing' and celebrate music from Johann Strauss to Abba.
Naomhóga Chorcaí and Meitheal Mara are inviting people for short currach/longboat trips on the river while there is an open invitation to meander through the English Market soaking up the ambiance with a bit of food on the side
From Fermoy to Beara, there are over 100 events taking place in Cork County from free tours, musical recitals, exhibitions, readings, performances and films.
Established Cork designers will showcase their creations at County Hall, where musician John Spillane will also be on hand, along with an arts and crafts exhibition.
In Kinsale, sculptor Don Cronin will showcase a collection of works including motorcycles and sculptures.
In Baltimore, Dún na Séad Castle will host master fiddlers, Kevin Burke and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and on Bere Island there will be an exhibition at the Heritage Centre of art work from local artists.
