A decision on Indaver's proposals for a controversial incinerator in Cork harbour will not be known until next week at the earliest.

An Bord Planeála had been due to issue its decision today.

An oral hearing was held into the waste company's plans for a 240,000 tonnes a year waste-to-energy facility at Ringaskiddy in April 2016 with a decision due by 12 July 2016.

The decision date has been deferred ten times since then.

Earlier this week, the Cork Harbour Alliance for a Safe Environment lodged a complaint against Ireland to the European Parliament Committee on Petitions over the delay.

This is Indaver's third application to build an incinerator in Ringaskiddy since 2001.
