Three climbers who got into difficulty on Carrauntoohil in Co Kerry have been successfully escorted off the mountain, following two separate rescue operations.
Twenty members of Kerry Mountain Rescue Team were involved in the two operations..
The alarm was raised at 2.30pm this afternoon when a man got into difficulty at the summit of the mountain.
One team was dispatched to rescue him, and the descent was completed successfully this evening.
The man has since been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Kerry Mountain Rescue Team said conditions on the mountain today were "very challenging", and were "for experienced mountaineers with the ability to navigate in zero visibility".
There were strong winds on the mountain, with waist deep snow drifts and very poor visibility.
Two other climbers also found themselves in difficulty on their descent from the mountain on the devil's ladder.
A separate rescue team was dispatched to them, and has successfully escorted them off the mountain.
Kerry Mountain Rescue team said none of the climbers involved have reported any injuries.
