Woman appointed to 2nd highest rank in Defence Forces
Minister for Defence Simon Coveney has described today as a significant day for Ireland as Major General Maureen O'Brien, who is the first woman to be appointed to the second highest rank in the Defence Forces, will be sent as one of two military advisors to the UN.
