The sentencing of a 56-year-old man who has pleaded guilty to an incident of arson, which caused around €3 million worth of damage in Longford town in 2024, has been adjourned until May.
Guo Zhong Chen, with an address at Belvedere Terrace, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, was due to be sentenced this week.
The incident happened in the Grafton Court Complex of Longford town in July 2024.
The blaze forced the closure of over a dozen businesses and caused an estimated €3m worth of damage.
Longford Circuit Court heard how a psychological report is outstanding and an assessment is to be carried out.
Legal aid was granted for an interpreter to cover the assessment.
Judge Jonathan Dunphy adjourned sentencing until 19 May.
