An investigation is under way into all the circumstances surrounding the death of a baby at a residential property in Co Meath, which was reported last night.
The baby's body was removed from the property for a post-mortem examination by the State Pathologist, which will take place in due course.
Gardaí said the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of their investigation.
They say they are aware of the sensitivities surrounding this investigation and will be treating it as such.
Investigations are ongoing.
