The death has occurred of RTÉ News journalist Niall Martin, aged 58.
Niall, who passed away after a short illness, joined RTÉ in 1988 and became a Programme Editor on Morning Ireland in 2000.
He worked on Nationwide as a reporter from 2010.
RTÉ News Managing Director Deirdre McCarthy paid tribute, saying: "As most of us who worked with Niall know he was full of ideas and very creative as well as being an extremely kind and generous person..
"Niall will be greatly missed by his many colleagues and friends across RTÉ," she added.
He is survived by his partner and two daughters.
