It is day two of the Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition at the RDS in Dublin.
This year, more than 1,000 students are presenting 550 projects in the areas of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Topics covered include everything from the impact of skorts on the camogie pitch to AI glasses for people with dementia.
In her speech yesterday to mark the opening of the event, President Catherine Connolly said the students gave her "hope for the future".
We spoke to some of them about the scientists and innovators who inspire them.
