Man, 20s, dies following suspected hunting accident in Carlow

An investigation is under way after a man in his 20s died following a suspected hunting accident in Co Carlow.

The incident occurred at a rural location near Leighlinbridge, around 15km south of Carlow town, late yesterday evening.

It is understood the man was hunting foxes with one other man who was known to him.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination.

It is understood that foul play is not suspected, but gardaí said the investigation is at a very early stage.

They have also asked for the time and space necessary for their investigation to be carried out sensitively.
