A new report on the video game sector in Ireland has found that more than 50% of Irish adults actively participate in gaming.

The 'Gaming in Ireland 2024' report was released by advertising agency TBWA with research from Bounce Insights.

According to the study, the gaming industry in Ireland is poised to generate over €637 million in revenue by the end of 2024, and cloud gaming is set to push revenues to a projected €813 million by 2027.

The report found that gaming is no longer confined to younger demographics, with the age range now including adults in their 50s and 60s.

The research reveals an almost 50/50 gender split amongst casual gamers at 52% male compared to 48% female.

The report also concludes that gamers are increasingly health-conscious and active with 45% of gamers in Ireland regularly going to the gym, while 72% engage in outdoor exercises.

"Businesses that recognise the changing dynamics of the gaming community stand to benefit immensely," said Ronan Jennings, Strategy Director at TBWA Ireland.

"By integrating gaming into their broader advertising and business strategies, companies can tap into a vibrant, engaged, and increasingly influential audience," Mr Jennings said.
