Two men in their 20s have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in Co Down last week.

Malcolm McKeown, 54, was shot dead in Waringstown on 19 August.

Jake O'Brien, 24, from Rectory Park, and 24-year-old Andrew Martin from Trasna Way, both in Lurgan, appeared before Lisburn Magistrates' Court charged with murder.

A police officer told the court the investigation was connected to a long-standing feud between criminal groups in relation to drug dealing in the Lurgan area.

The court was told both defendants deny the charges.

Mr McKeown was known to police.

CCTV footage show him in a shop attached to Dewart's Garage close to his home in Waringstown at around 7.15pm last Monday.

His body was later found in his parked car at the rear of the business.

He had been shot six times in the head and body.
