There was no application for bail as the district court has no jurisdiction to consider bail on a murder charge.

However, solicitor Damien Rudden did make an application for his client to be remanded to Castlerea Prison.

This application was declined by Judge Raymond Finnegan, who said the accused was required to be transferred to the local remand prison in Cloverhill.

Judge Finnegan said a further application could be made at a later date and he remanded Danny Heyneman in custody to appear before Cavan District Court via video-link on Friday.
