A 38-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a construction worker who was found with fatal injuries in a park in Dublin last Friday.
Feri Anghel, of no fixed abode, but originally from Romania, is accused of the murder of Ioan Artene Bob at Sean Walsh Park in Tallaght.
The 49-year-old father-of-one, who was also from Romania, had been attacked and severely beaten and later died in Tallaght Hospital.
Detective Garda Shay Palmer gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution at Tallaght District Court.
He said he arrested Mr Anghel at 10.15pm yesterday. When he was charged with the murder of Ioan Artene Bob, he replied: "No".
As he is facing a murder charge, Judge Patricia McNamara said that Mr Anghel could not apply for bail at the hearing.
He granted the accused free legal aid, certified for an interpreter and remanded him in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Friday.
