An extensive search operation has resumed on Lough Mask in Co Mayo this morning after a five-year-old boy was reported missing last evening.
Gardaí and the Coast Guard service are involved in the search for the boy.
The search is taking place on the west side of Lough Mask, near Toormakeady.
The child is from the local area and is understood to have fallen from a dinghy which may have drifted from the shoreline.
The alarm was raised at 6.30pm last evening when the small craft was spotted in the water.

The Corrib Mask Search and Rescue team is involved in the operation, with locals also out in force to assist.
The Sligo and Shannon-based Coast Guard Helicopters conducted aerial surveys of the lake last night, with search teams also working to locate the boy, on water and from the shore.
The search continued into the night and resumed at first light this morning
Divers from the Grainne Uaile Sub Aqua Club Search and Recovery team also searched the water last night.
Search dives will resume at 7am.
