€240 million upgrade of N5 Westport to Turlough road confirmed

Minister Michael Ring said it was the largest ever State investment in Mayo

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has confirmed that Government has signed off on the upgrade of the N5 Westport to Turlough road in Co Mayo.

The road upgrade, which includes 20km of dual carriageway and a 2.5km link to the N59, will cost just over €240 million.

Rural and Community Development Minister Michael Ring said this is the largest ever Government investment in Mayo.
