The Mayo Senior football team arrived back in Castlebar this evening following their All-Ireland final defeat to Dublin yesterday at Croke Park.
Players, management and backroom staff travelled home by rail and made the short journey from the train station in Castlebar to McHale Park, where a homecoming event will be staged.
The team was expected at the county GAA headquarters at 6pm.
Last night, hundreds of supporters welcomed the defeated Al-Ireland finalists back to their Co Dublin hotel, where a banquet was held.
Mayo captain Cillian O'Connor told the gathering that the Dublin team were worthy champions because they had beaten "great men" in yesterday's final.
He pledged that the team would "continue to fight the good fight".
