Dublin-based video game company StoryToys has announced a new partnership with Netflix.
The company has become a strategic development partner on the launch of Netflix Playground, a new gaming app designed for children aged eight and under.
The standalone app will include a collection of popular interactive games and creative experiences inspired by well known children's brands.
StoryToys is contributing a portfolio of titles including Sesame Street, StoryBots, Bad Dinosaurs and Let’s Colour.
The company said the games on the new Netflix platform are fully playable offline, completely ad free, and free from in app purchases or hidden costs.
"Integrated Netflix parental controls ensure a secure and family friendly experience, giving parents peace of mind while children’s minds explore, learn, and play," StoryToys said.
According to the company, several new titles are already in development and are set to roll out on Netflix Playground later this year.
"Together with Netflix, we are building a brand new world where children can do more than watch their favourite stories, they can step inside them," said Emmet O’Neill, chief executive of StoryToys.
"We are thrilled to be a strategic development partner on such an ambitious and inspiring platform." Mr O'Neill said.
