Laois is the county with the highest level of fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband coverage at 89%, according to new figures from Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg).

The latest Electronic Communications Sector Quarterly Report shows that Dublin has the highest level of FTTP and/or cable coverage at 92%.

Fixed broadband subscriber lines increased to 1.68 million, a 0.6% increase this quarter and an increase of 2.6% compared to the third quarter of 2023.

Of these, over 817,000 were FTTP subscriber lines representing 48.5% of total fixed broadband subscriber lines in the third quarter of the year.

Meanwhile, today's ComReg figures show that total mobile subscriptions, including mobile broadband and machine-to-machine (M2M)), increased to 10.1 million.

This was driven by a rise in bill pay subscriptions which represent 75% of all mobile subscriptions.
