A €30m investment in the Irish communications software company Poppulo has been announced by US tech investors Susquehanna Growth Equity.
Founded in Bandon in 1996, Poppulo currently employs 163 people at its Cork city headquarters and 37 in Boston.
Originally called Newsweaver, the company was re-branded two years ago.
CEO Andrew O'Shaughnessy said the multi-million euro investment will fund high-end research and development and the company's planned expansion across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
Poppulo's employee communications software allows big organisations to plan, target, publish and measure the impact of all of their internal employee communications on one platform.
It is currently used by over 800 of the world's biggest organisations including Nestlé, Unilever and Bank of America as well as almost half of the world's top pharma companies.
The level of the investment underlines the opportunity seen for expansion in this area.
SGE's managing director Jonathan Klahr said they see the employee engagement sector as a market with enormous potential.
