Datalex sees signs of travel recovery

Travel software firm Datalex says there are signs that the travel industry is slowly beginning to emerge from the difficult conditions of the past 18 months.

In a trading update, it said its performance in the first four months of the year had been in line with expectations. Revenue in the period was $8.8m, flat compared with the same period last year, but it said there had been a noticeable improvement in the pipeline of new business.

Transaction revenue was also flat at $4.6m, with Datalex estimating that disruption from volcanic ash had cost it around $200,000 in this area.

The company said costs in the period had been reduced by $1.5m to $9.4m.
