Travel software firm Datalex says one of its customers has started legal proceedings against it in Australia.
Datalex had threatened legal proceedings against Australian company Flight Centre Ltd in Dublin's Commercial Court earlier this month.
The Irish company said that, subsequently, Flight Centre started proceedings in the Supreme Court in Queensland. Datalex said the claim related to the deployment of its software in Flight Centre's travel agency business.
In a statement, Datalex said it believed the Australian company's move was 'defensive' and 'without any basis or merit'. It said it would also go ahead with its action against Flight Centre, which is related to money Datalex claims it is owed for work carried out. Datalex said it would also counterclaim for 'substantial' damages in Australia arising from Flight Centre's decision not to deploy Datalex's software.
