Revenue rise lowers Datalex loss

Travel software firm Datalex has reported reduced pre-tax losses for 2008 as revenue increased.

Pre-tax losses for the year were $1.4m, compared with just over $2m in 2007, as revenue grew by 7% to $33m.

Datalex said revenue growth was slightly behind expectations, but was affected by the dollar's strengthening against the euro and sterling in the second half of 2008.

The company said that although 2009 would be another difficult year for the travel industry, it had a healthy pipeline of new business. It provides distribution software and technology for travel companies and airlines.
