Macalla Software, a leading mobile e-Commerce platform provider, is opening an office in Madrid, Spain. This opening is in direct response to market reaction for the company and its Mobility Platform product in Spain and across southern Europe.
Dublin-headquartered Macalla has appointed John McNamara to head up the Spanish operation. Prior to joining Macalla, he spent three years as Market Advisor with Enterprise Ireland in Spain and has also held positions at Samsung Semiconductor in Germany and the UK.
Mobility is the company's flagship product. It is a complete software framework for building and deploying secure mobile e-Commerce applications for both web and mobile internet channels.
The company recently announced a new British office in the City of London, which will create 50 new jobs over the next 18 months.
* Macalla also announced today that it has released 'Mobility SafeGuard', which guarantees secure end to end transactions across WAP digital channels.
'This is a welcome security augmentation for our clients in the financial services arena where security considerations are paramount,' said Macalla's CEO, Niall O'Cleirigh. This will bring a positive impact to retail banks who need this type of security guarantee as they seek to offer m-banking facilities through any number of operator gateways'.
The company has installed m-banking solutions with a number of international customers including Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
