Watch: 'It was an incredible moment' - Irish team arrive in Dublin after Everest climb

Team Ireland who successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest have returned home after their historic climb.

Former Mayo footballer Pádraig O'Hora, Éanna McGowan from Dublin and Adam Sweeney from Waterford completed the climb after a 47-day expedition in Nepal, becoming the first all-Irish team in more than 20 years to reach the world's highest peak.

22-year-old Adam is the youngest Irish person to reach the summit and said that to represent Ireland on a world stage was "class."

Mr O'Hora said reaching the summit was "an incredible moment" and that it was "unbelievable to see the amount of people who came, followed and supported" their expedition, while Mr McGowan was also "delighted to see so many people come out and support what we were able to achieve."

The team landed in Dublin Airport this morning, where they were met with cheers and congratulations from friends and family.
