The family of a man who died after being assaulted last weekend has described their heartbreak and how he "touched so many lives."
37-year-old Alex Coughlan from Blanchardstown suffered serious injuries in the attack near his home on Sunday afternoon.
Gardaí said he was found unconscious on the Mill Road and brought to hospital in a critical condition. He died three days later.
A statement has been shared on behalf of his family to describe this "incredibly difficult time" after his "tragic passing".
They said Mr Coughlan will be remembered for "the love and laughter he brought to so many".
"He was truly loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, warmth, and presence touched so many lives, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him," the statement said.
The family also said that his organs have been donated "to help others in need - a lasting gift that reflects the caring and selfless person he was".
In a fundraiser online for his funeral, the family extended their gratitude to the large number of people who supported them in the aftermath of this incident and the staff who took care of Mr Coughlan at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.
Two teenage boys were arrested as part of the investigation and appeared in court on Wednesday. They were charged in relation to the assault and robbery.
The teenagers were remanded in custody to appear in court again next week.
