Emergency services are continuing to deal with a major fire in the Tycor area of Waterford city.
Fire brigades from Waterford City Fire Service, Tramore, Dunmore East, Portlaw and Dungarvan are currently tending to the large blaze at a commercial premises in Tycor.
Waterford City and County Council has advised the public to avoid the area around the old Jute Factory, and also for those living in the vicinity to keep their windows closed.
Significant flames could be seen - some believed to be up to 12 metres in height - since the closing stages of the Waterford versus Cork match in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship at nearby Walsh Park this evening.
It is understood that some local residents have been evacuated and there are traffic restrictions in place.
There have been no reports of any injuries.
However, some business owners have expressed concern over potential damage to surrounding industrial units.
