HSA investigating man's death at Tipperary factory

The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation following the death of a man in his 40s at a meat processing factory in Co Tipperary on Monday.

Patrick Gleeson, who was from Youghal in Co Cork, was pronounced dead at the facility in Roscrea following the incident at around 3pm on 9 March.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the incident and the local coroner was notified.

Mr Gleeson, a father-of-one, was laid to rest following a funeral mass yesterday.

His family said they have been left devastated and are trying to understand the circumstances surrounding his death.

Gardaí said the Health and Safety Authority was notified and that it is conducting its own investigation.
