Deliveroo is expanding its service to offer on-demand shopping for a range of retail products.
The new service goes live from today and will be initially available in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway.
Deliveroo, which has been providing a takeaway food delivery service in Ireland, is now also offering products from beauty and pet care to florists, technology, DIY and gifts.
The company first moved beyond food delivery to include retail products in the UK in 2023 and it said the service "has since grown to include a wide variety of renowned brands".
The Perfume Shop and Accessorize, along with more than 20 local small and medium-sized enterprises, are among the first shops on the Deliveroo platform in Ireland.
The company said it plans to "rapidly expand the service" in the coming months, adding more retailers and rolling out to new locations across the country.
The regional director of Deliveroo Ireland said the company's mission is to "bring the local community to your doorstep and this is a significant step forward to achieving that".
Helen Maher said it’s not just about convenience for customers, "it’s about creating a new and vital opportunity for Irish retailers".
"We directly support physical shops, providing a digital extension to the traditional storefront and generating a new revenue stream that goes straight back into stores," she said.
The managing director of The Perfume Shop said its "existing partnership with Deliveroo in the UK has proven hugely successful, so we are excited to expand into Ireland".
Gill Smith said the partnership "offers our customers a new level of speed and convenience while reaching a much wider audience".
Meanwhile, the head of marketing at Accessorize said the company is "extremely excited" to be launching with Deliveroo in Ireland.
Madeleine McCleod said it will allow the retailer to offer customers "the opportunity to shop our products with delivery to their door in under 25 minutes".
The latest expansion follows the move by Deliveroo to offer a grocery delivery service in Ireland, from retailers including Tesco Whoosh, M&S Ireland and SPAR.
The new service is available through the Deliveroo app and navigating to the shopping category, where it is possible to browse items from retailers in the local area.
