They say they have experienced an overwhelming sense of community through the generosity and support provided to them.
An online fundraiser has been set up to help cover the costs of fuel and search equipment.
Organised by Ms Ní Fhátharta's family, the monies will be donated to voluntary organisations that are assisting in the recovery effort.
Johnny Duhan laid to rest
Mr Duhan was laid to rest this afternoon, following his funeral mass at St Killian's Church, in New Inn, Co Galway.
At the start of the service, a number of items representing his life and loves were brought to the altar. They included Mr Duhan’s song journal, his guitar, a prayer book to symbolise his "strong, unwavering faith" and a family photograph of "his crew".
In his homily, Fr Michael Brennan described the 74-year-old songwriter as someone who had graced the lives of many people, especially his family, in a "precious and deep way".
He said Mr Duhan was a man of faith, with a "searching mind and a searching heart".

In a eulogy, his daughter Ailbhe said her father’s presence lit up the lives of countless people during a life filled with "music, love and passion".
She recalled how he "fought tirelessly to bring Irish music to radio" to ensure local voices were heard, as part of his love for song and word.
He was a man of deep spirituality and wisdom, with bibles and prayer books "marked from cover to cover".
She told the congregation that he had passed away while swimming at Silverstrand Beach, in a place he loved, doing something he adored.
Prayers were also offered at the funeral for Ms Ní Fhátharta, her family and those involved in the ongoing search effort in Galway Bay.
Among the music featured during the service were a number of Mr Duhan’s compositions, including 'When You Go' and 'In Me’.
