A book of condolence for folk singer Dolores Keane has opened at Galway County Hall.
The renowned musician died at her home in Caherlistrane, Co Galway, on Monday.
The Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council, Councillor David Collins, and the Chief Executive, Liam Conneally, opened the book, which will be available for signing during normal office hours over the coming days and is also available online.
Paying tribute to the 72-year-old late singer, Councillor Collins said she had made a major contribution to the development and international reach of Irish music.
Expressing sympathies to her family and friends, he said Dolores Keane had "one of the most distinctive and respected voices, and brought the music and spirit of County Galway to audiences around the world".
Dolores Keane will be laid to rest, following a funeral mass at St Patrick and St Cuana Church, Kilcoona, on Friday afternoon at 3pm.
