A 28-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 65-year-old woman found dead in Derry at the weekend.
The accused will appear in court in the city this morning.
Sixty-five-year-old Montserrat Martorell was found dead in a flat at Harvey Street in the city on Saturday.
The emergency services had been alerted to a fire in the property. She was found dead at the scene.
Police said Ms Martorell had been the victim of a horrific attack and sustained multiple injuries.
She was originally from Spain.
Police had issued an appeal for information about a man seen in the vicinity of the property in the early hours of Saturday morning.
