Almost 90 motorists inadvertently filled their petrol vehicles with diesel after a Circle K garage put the wrong fuel into its petrol pumps.
In a statement, Circle K apologised to those affected after the incident on Saturday at its Kill North Service Station on the northbound lane of the N7.
The petrol pumps that were mistakenly filled with diesel, operated for five hours and Circle K said it believes that up to 87 drivers were impacted.
Circle K said that between 2pm and 7pm on Saturday all the petrol pumps at the Kill North Service Station were "impacted by an isolated incident where diesel was inadvertently delivered into a petrol underground storage tank.
"Having reviewed CCTV and sales data, we know up to 87 customers may have been impacted by this issue," it said.
"As soon as the issue became apparent, petrol pumps at the forecourt were immediately closed and Circle K launched an investigation to establish how this occurred," it added.
The company promised to support customers in rectifying any problems they may have with their vehicles.
It added that it aims to help customers resolve any issues "as quickly as possible" and is assuring customers that, "we will assist them with any potential claim."
Circle K said impacted customers can contact the following numbers - 087 1034125; 01 2028768; 01 2028762 or 01 2028888.
