A new opinion poll suggests an increase in support for Sinn Féin, but a drop for both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.

The Red C/Business Post online survey puts Sinn Féin at 34% - up 3 points on last month.

In a week when the Coalition rowed over income tax cuts in the next budget, the poll puts Fine Gael at 20%, down 2 points; and Fianna Fail on 15%, down one point.

The poll suggests the Social Democrats are on 6%, up 1.

Both the Green Party and Labour Party remain unchanged at 4%.

People Before Profit/Solidarity, at 3%, is up 1 point. However, Aontú is at 1%, down 1 point.

Independents fall back one point to 11%, while other parties are unmoved at 2%.

The survey of 1,011 adults took place between Friday 19 May and Wednesday 24 May.

The margin of error in the poll is plus or minus 3%.
