A fund to promote inclusion, protect rights and to improve the quality of life and well-being for the LGBTI+ community has been announced this morning.

Minister for Justice and Equality Helen McEntee and Minister for Children, Disability, Equality and Integration, Roderic O'Gorman were seeking applicants nationwide.

The Community Services fund aims to enable people from the LGBTI+ community to participate fully in Ireland's social, economic, cultural and political life.

Some €700,000 has been made available as part of the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy, which was published last year.

The strategy is seeking to create a safe, fair and inclusive Ireland, whatever people's sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or sex characteristics.
