As more than 35,000 nurses prepare to take part in tomorrow’s strike, RTÉ’s Southern Editor, Paschal Sheehy, has been to Cork University Hospital to talk to some of those involved in tomorrow’s industrial action and to those who will be managing the hospital without their nursing colleagues.

Cork University Hospital caters for a population of more than half a million people. It is the country's biggest teaching hospital.

Michelle Kingston has worked in the health service for the past 23 years. She says she is the only one of her class who qualified in 2008 who is still in Ireland. The rest are all working abroad. She says that she does not want to be on strike tomorrow, but she has to.

Cork University Hospital's emergency department will operate tomorrow with approximately half of its normal complement of nurses, seven instead of 15.
