Eventbrite, the global ticketing and event technology company, has opened a new Irish headquarters in a landmark former banking hall in Cork city.
The company currently employs 35 people, but the 11,500 square feet office at 97 South Mall has room for up to 100 and the firm is currently hiring.
Built for the Provincial Bank of Ireland in 1865, the imposing building once housed a branch of Allied Irish Bank and most recently was the headquarters for the Thomas Crosbie Holdings Company.
Tánaiste Simon Coveney officially opened the building today saying the move represents a major vote of confidence in the future of the company's operations in Ireland.
Once known as the city's financial street, the South Mall has been nicknamed locally as 'Silicon Mall' because of the number of tech-related companies now finding a home there including Republic of Work and UCC's School of Business.
Eventbrite processed $10 billion in gross ticket sales since it was founded in 2006.
