Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following a post-mortem examination on the body of an 18-year old man found dead in a field in Co Louth.
The body was found on land off the Ardee Road in Dunleer.
The body was discovered by a man out walking his dog.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at around 8.45am.
The man was pronounced dead a short time later.
The victim has not yet been named. It is understood that he has close family members living in the area.
A Garda Forensic team has been working in a cordoned-off area of the field between a number of housing estates and several factories.
Gardaí have already spoken to several people from the nearby housing estates.
The field where the body was discovered is often used as a short-cut by workers to access the industrial estate.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Drogheda Garda Station on 041-9874200.
They have particularly appealed for anyone who was in the vicinity of Shamrock Hill, Dunleer between 4pm on Friday, and 8.30am this morning, to contact them.
