A number of flights between Ireland and the UK have been cancelled because of the bad weather.
Flights from Birmingham and Stansted into Ireland West Airport (Knock) and from Heathrow, Birmingham and Stansted to Dublin Airport were cancelled.
Ireland West Airport is open for business however, after specialist equipment was deployed to clear snow from the runway this morning.
Delays from flights out of Britain may impact on services later today.
Intending passengers are advised to check with their airline before traveling to the airport.
Snow has affected several areas across the country, as well in the UK.
Severe weather is forecast across North Wales and central England where snow has already fallen at a rate of several centimetres an hour.
Flights have been suspended at Birmingham Airport while the runway is cleared, leaving passengers facing delays, while a section of the M1 motorway was closed in Leicestershire due to numerous vehicles being stranded.
