Three men arrested after €220k worth of drugs found

Three men have been arrested after a quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of €220,000 was seized in Carlow yesterday.

Gardaí searched a house at Borlum Wood on the Green Road in Carlow town at 8pm yesterday.

During the search they discovered 7kgs of cannabis herb in an upstairs room. In a second room, 100 cannabis plants were discovered at various stages of growth.

Two men in their 50s and a man in his 30s, all Lithuanian nationals, were arrested at the scene and taken to Carlow Garda Station where they are being held.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the operation is ongoing, said gardaí.
