The European Court of Human Rights has confirmed that the British government has submitted its observations in relation to the Hooded Men inquiry.
It follows a request filed with the court by the Government in December 2014, on the basis of new material uncovered.
The Government has contended that the ill-treatment suffered by the Hooded Men should be recognised as torture.
It currently remains under consideration by the court.
However, in March this year the UK was invited by the court to submit observations on a number of questions posed by the ECHR.
The deadline for submission of their observations was yesterday.
