A 45-year-old woman has been remanded on bail after being charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man at an apartment in Roscrea, Co Tipperary, last weekend.
Inga Ozalina, with an address at The Malthouse, Roscrea, was brought to Thurles District Court this morning from Nenagh Garda Station, where she has been held for questioning since her arrest last Thursday.
She was charged with assault causing harm to Audrius Pukas on Sunday 20 November.
He was found with fatal injuries at an apartment at The Maltings in Roscrea in the early hours of Sunday.
The court heard Ms Ozalina made a number of replies to gardaí when she was formally charged in Nenagh last night.
Gardaí objected to bail on the grounds of the seriousness of the charge and that further serious charges could follow.
Judge Elizabeth McGrath noted the defendant, who has two daughters in their 20s living in Latvia and Germany, had made her life in Ireland, where she had steady employment for the past 11 years.
She fixed bail on her own surety of €1,000 to be lodged in court and an independent surety of €5,000.
The accused woman has already handed over her passport to gardaí and must sign on three times a week at Roscrea Garda station.
She is due to appear in court again on 22 December.
