A man accused of murdering a pensioner almost four years ago has been remanded in custody at Buncrana District Court.

Samuel James Clarke, 52, from Magherennan, Raphoe was charged with the murder of  67-year-old Seamus Doherty at his house at Drumacnoo, Churchill on 17 June, 2012.

Mr Clarke was arrested at his home last night and charged at Letterkenny Garda Station.

He will appear again at Harristown District Court tomorrow.
