Three former National Car Test employees have appeared in court, accused of accepting bribes in exchange for certificates of roadworthiness.
A fourth man, who did not work for the National Car Testing Service, also faces charges.
27-year-old Alan Richardson, with an address at Paddock Grove, Adamstown, Lucan, Dublin, faces charges of accepting cash as an inducement for procuring an NCT certificate.
He also faces a charge under the Criminal Justice Theft and Fraud Offences Act, for creating a false NCT certicate.
33-year-old Vincent Brunton, from Priory Square, Celbridge, Co Kildare, faces charges of accepting a gift as an inducement for procuring an NCT certificate and failing to perform tests on vehicles.
Darren Meehan, 39, from Delamere, Enfield, Co Meath, also faces charges of accepting a gift as an inducement for procuring an NCT certificate and failing to perform tests on vehicles.
Stephen Rooney, with an address at Paddock Grove, Adamstown, Lucan in Dublin, also faces charges under the Criminal Justice Theft and Fraud Offences Act.
Detective Inspector Sean O'Riordan from the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation gave evidence of arrest charge and caution.
He told the court that all four were arrested by appointment this morning. They made no reply when charged.
Judge Michael Walsh granted all four bail.
They will appear in court again on 11 January next year when the book of evidence will be served and they will be sent forward for trial.
