A 59-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to the theft of more than €60,000 from a number of AIB accounts in Tuam, Co Galway.
Sheila McLoughlin with an address at Cullane, Claremorris in Co Mayo was charged with 24 counts of theft at Galway Circuit Criminal Court.
She pleaded guilty to all charges.
The court heard the thefts took place on dates between 2010 and 2012.
A total of 14 AIB customers had money taken from their accounts and many had funds withdrawn from their savings on separate occasions.
McLoughlin spoke only to confirm her name and enter guilty pleas as each of the charges were put to her.
Judge Rory McCabe heard that a total of €61,887.92 had been taken from the accounts, all of which were held at the AIB branch at Vicar Street in Tuam.
One customer had €19,838 taken from his account on dates between June and November 2012.
Defence barrister Deirdre Browne requested a probation and welfare services report be compiled ahead of sentencing.
Judge McCabe also acceeded to a request from Ms Browne for a psychiatric report to be carried out on McLoughlin.
She was released on bail and will be sentenced in February.
