A number of people were removed from the County Registrar's Court in Castlebar this afternoon, after they raised concerns about the manner in which the proceedings were being conducted.

One of the people escorted from the building was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital. It is understood he was discharged a short time later.

Multiple groups opposed to the actions being taken by banks in relation to outstanding debts attended the proceedings at Castlebar courthouse.

Gardaí said no arrests were made but that they intervened when a number of people refused to accede to requests to leave the courtroom, so that the list of cases for hearing could proceed.
