Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has defended the involvement of the KPMG special liquidators in the review of Siteserv.

Minister Noonan was responding to questions in the Dáil from Sinn Féin finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty and Socialist TD Ruth Coppinger.

Mr Noonan said public concerns over conflicts of interest will be addressed by the retired High Court judge Iarfhlaith O'Neill who will be overseeing the review.

Minister Noonan said: "Every fact about this issue has been put on the table by the Department of Finance or myself, whether by Parliamentary Question or FOI".

He said he would not inhibit Oireachtas Committees in their examination of the review "in anyway whatsoever".

"It's a first step scoping exercise by people with the data", he added.
