Up to 300 people attended the launch of Yes Equality, a new independent civic group campaigning for a Yes vote in the upcoming same-sex marriage referendum.

The group is made up of the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network, the Irish Council for Civil Liberties and Marriage Equality.

It is supported by a number of trade unions, women's groups, parents groups, political parties and youth organisations.

Politicians from across the political spectrum were at today's launch, including Tánaiste Joan Burton, Minister for Children James Reilly and Minister for Communications Alex White.

Grainne Healy of Yes Equality, said that they were confident of a high turnout on polling day.

The event was hosted by Charlie Bird.
