Dublin Civil Defence have said that it will open up its emergency accommodation in Dublin's city centre for 20 beds for people who are homeless from next Friday.

The organisation says the facility was due to open on 5 January to offer cold weather emergency shelter.

The service will be open on Christmas Day and volunteers will work all over the Christmas season to support people in need of accommodation.
